Prior to working at °Ä²Êͼ¿â, Professor Faxel performed research on tapeworms and the oral microbiome at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, in Bethesda, Maryland. For their master’s degree, they investigated the immune system’s response to stimuli in mouse models, focusing on B cells. They previously taught biology at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama.
